Needed a break from cleaning up my film so I went back to figuring out layouts and colours.

Some of the details might be too messy or too many of them in some regions but I think this is an interesting direction.

I then tried out addding a character to the layout and then trying a version with Blur Effects.

Some of you might already know that I teach Animation Portfolio at Mississauga Valley School of Arts. Personally, I love that place. It helped me get into Sheridan, it has nice LIfe Drawing sessions and it has so many trinkets that you just want to draw. Yesterday I took an opportunity to sketch some good old Still LIfe and it was refreshing. C:

Sooo Since I have some cleaned-up animation, I thought that I might as well try out colouring my characters to see what I like and how long it would take me. I like this, but it is definitely one of most time consuming processes XC. If I manage to do all of my rough animation and more clean-up during the break then I might have enough time to do this colouring style (cross fingers!!!!).

A friend of mine, Dean Heezen, keeps on doing these cute caricatures of me ever since the internship. When he saw that I've kept the very first rough one, he decided to do a nice clean version of it. That was so awesome that I decided that the clean-up deserves to be coloured. And for no reason whatsoever, I decided to challenge myself by colouring it with a mouse. Don't ask why. :S

Last year I have applied to Art from Memory Challenge where we had to base our art piece on one of the given WWII Veteran stories. I was one of the top 10 finalists and I believe the piece is right now at a gallery in Vancouver, if not then with the association.

I was hoping that there was going to be another one this year because the challenge was fun and the theme was something I was not used to doing (I wanted to do an entire leica this time :C), but oh well.

Fantasia is one of my all time favourite movies, and I am actually one of rare cases that I could watch this movie and not get bored as a child. Pastoral Symphony and Dance of the Hours were and are still my favourite Fantasia segments.

Fanart Week: Games

So I've started with a group of friends a Fanart Week, where each day we have to draw to a different theme. Today was games, and I drew Terra and Celes from Final Fantasy 6.
Originally I wanted to draw Terra ever since the Japanese Dissidia came out. However, then I've found her challenging so I never drew her. English Dissidia came, but I still didn't draw her. I played Final Fantasy 6 and I wanted to draw all of the characters but couldn't because I was in 3rd year of my program. Dissidia Duodecim came out and to my extreme disappointment they turned Terra into the shittiest character. :C Then i wasn't sure of drawing her anymore, but now I took this opportunity to finally do. Hey, at least I've done it before 3DS Final Fantasy 6 possibly comes out. I drew her with my favourite attack in Dissidia, Holy.
I'm not the biggest fan of Celes, but dam I love that outfit.
I wanted to colour both of them but with busy internship and lack of tablet I have to be satisfied with a sketch for now. :/

Beginning of July I have went to a place in Vaughan called Reptilia where I studied and drew reptiles, but mainly cobras and snakes. I got to see King Cobra and Alligators having their weekly lunch and lizards and turtles goofing off. It was overall pretty fun.

The Weekend has ended with watching Sin City and Kiss Kiss Bang Bang.

Yesterday it has been a year since my first bird, Kiki, has died. A day doesn't pass by that I don't think of him or that I miss him. After his death I thought that I would never get another pet. However during the summer, a Senegal has won our hearts just like Kiki did and he became our second bird, Teodor.

This is quite old now, probably from December or November, and I was thinking of posting it once I coloured it but seeing how time is of the essence this semester for now I will only post the sketches.
I decided to sketch out Kikimo the way she looked like at specific points to present. This way I don't need to remind myself by looking at the blasts from the past. I completely forgot how fun she is to draw in dresses.

It's been 7 years since I have created her. Time flies.
